Pimento. best known as 'allspice, has a mild, slightly sweet flavour, with notes of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper. It is used in many cuisines as an aromatic in savoury dishes, desserts, baking recipes and beverages.Great in pickles, cured meats, rice dishes, casseroles, curries and soups.
Delicious in baked goods, especially apple pie or boiled orange cake.Give extra depth of flavour to rich chocolate desserts. or add a pinch to stewed fruits. pimento is also lovely in row treats like chla and berry pudding. or add a pinch to a pot of chai tea.
